Munchen Oktoberfest Stein

  • This Oktoberfest beer stein features a Bavarian band and scenes from Munich including the Frauenkirche and the Marienplstz.  The front of the stein is decorated with a banner "Munchen Oktoberfest" and each side says "Prosit" which means good health in  German toast. 
Munchen is an  800 year old city and is the capital city of Bavaria hosts the  world famous Oktoberfest festival,. Traditionally, the city is famous for its breweries and cheerful people drinking steins of beer.
  • On the left side is the Marienplatz, home to the new city hall and also the world famous Glockenspiel in the tower of the new city hall. In the Middle ages markets and tournaments were held in this city square. Marienplatz was named after the Mariensäule, a Marian column erected in its centre in 1638 to celebrate the end of Swedish occupation. The Glockenspiel draws millions of tourists a year. There is a pedestrian zone between Karlsplatz and Marienplatz is a crowded area with numerous shops and restaurants
  • On the rightside is the  Frauenkirche in Munich which is a church that whose the two towers (north tower 98.57 m, south tower 0.12 m less) were completed in 1488 and the church was consecrated in 1494 and now serves as the cathedral of the Archdiocese of Munich and Freising and seat of its Archbishop.
